Friday Five #3

After a break of almost a year, I’m actually updating this blog!

1. What happened to you in 2017 that made you the happiest?

I don’t think I can pick just one thing that made me happiest! I’ve had lots of adventures, spent time with wonderful people and learnt lots of new things. Some of the highlights include:

Travelling to Iceland.

Iceland was stunningly beautiful! Flying over it was actually like flying over the moon! The landscape was so foreign and unusual – it was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. We went on the Golden Circle Tour (which I’d highly recommend) and saw the Geyser, Gullfloss and Thingvellir National Park, pictured above.

Met some Puffins.

Well, met is strong. We went on a boat tour around the Farne Islands in May. We were in a tiny boat and got really close to some amazing wildlife: seals, dolphins(!) and puffins!

Watched some of my favourite people get married

In June, my brother-in-law Jamie married my wonderful friend Laura. They couldn’t have got a more perfect day: the sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky and the temperature was in the mid-high 20s. It was a beautiful wedding and many drinks were had!

2. What were your plans for New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day?

On New Year’s Eve we went to my friends Fran and Dan. They’ve just moved into a lovely new house and it was their wedding anniversary, so the party was a Housewarming/Anniversary/New Year’s Eve party. There were drinks. There were party poppers. There were sparklers. What else do you need?

Apparently, I just pulled faces all night.
3. What was the best discovery you made in 2017?

My best discovery of 2017 was finding my new house! It’s amazing what a browse on Rightmove will throw up!

4. What are your thoughts on the idea of “new year/new you?”

I was pretty fabulous in 2017, I think I’ll stay that was in 2018.
5. What are you most looking forward to in 2018?

I’m most looking foward to more travelling, more food, learning new things and finishing my photography course. I’m excited to meet new people, to do more singing and conducting, see more operas and spend as much time as possible with my family and friends.
